Let’s start out with the building, they have 1 location which serves as an office, warehouse, and parking for their fleet of 13 vehicles. This is by far the most efficient building we’ve ever worked on. Their utility bills are comparable to a large house and are much lower than similar businesses in similarly sized buildings. If you are looking to make an efficient building, copy theirs.

Vehicles: Bill’s Plumbing has a pretty big fleet and this is where almost all of their emissions come from. They do however make efforts to make these vehicles as efficient as possible. They do route every single day to be as efficient as possible and to avoid traveling back and forth between jobs on opposite sides of their service area.

Materials: Plumbing is an industry where recycling can be profitable and Bill’s Plumbing & Drain has amazing incentives to recycle. They let their workers process all the material and take it to recycling and keep the money from it. This is a great way for employees to get a little extra money while reducing the environmental impact of the business. Nothing better to promote green activities than by directly paying the people doing those activities.

Conclusion: Bill’s Plumbing & Drain does an amazing job at making their procedures as sustainable as possible. While equipment could be improved to have a ridiculously low environmental impact, they are well below their relative carrying capacity for emissions even with a fleet of 13 vehicles. That just shows how efficient their procedures are.
